Altar Servers assist the priest prior to, during, and at the conclusion of the Mass. The altar is prepared, candles are lit, the bell is rung, books are held, gifts are prepared, and full participation in praying and singing with the congregation, as well as putting things away in their proper place after the conclusion of the Mass.
The criteria for altar servers include: [age, grade, etc.] and the completion of altar server training. If you (or your child) have an interest in learning more about becoming an Altar Server, please contact the Rectory for more information.
An Altar Server schedule is prepared in advance to be sure we have adequate coverage for all weekend Masses and Holy Days of Obligation. Altar Servers are also requested to serve at other times and for special occasions such as funerals, weddings, First Communions, Confirmations, etc.).
